Can you name 3 of your favorite jewelry designers?
Calder’s jewels. Even if his work widely exceeds jewelry.
Gabrielle Chanel’s jewels, especially her work with glass paste. She brought credibility to costume jewelry. She worked with many very skilled craftsmen dedicated to jewelry to create these collections.
A greek jeweller called Ilias Lalaounis,
Bulgari.

Do you have favourite artists ?
A full bag !
Pedro Almodovar, Alejandro Amenàbar, Jean-Pierre Jeunet…
Aragon, D’Ormesson, Simone de Beauvoir, Albert Cohen…
Belle du seigneur is one of my favourite books.
Barbara, Alex beaupain, Erik Satie…
Modern art in general, especially Calder and Giacometti.
Do you have favorite jewels?
My father has been offering me jewels for years…he loves to offer me jewels.

What are the two main qualities to be a good jewelry designer?
Passion and versatility.
What would you advise to a new jewelry designer?
To work.
Is there a jewel you would have loved to create in place of a designer ?
Not really…when I really love a jewel, I am inspired and I reappropriate it !
Maybe the Yves Saint Laurent Arty ring that I would like to buy.

What is challenging in your job?
Production and entrepreneurship are challenging but it is also rewarding and exciting.
There are also compromises because we do not create at the extent we would like for lack of time…crafts are ery organized activities.
What is the most rewarding thing in your job?
To see your clients as children in front of a patisserie window when they come to the showroom. It always surprises me.

Why this job and not another one ?
I have this feeling that I have been progresively developing this project for years…To progress step by step without knowing where it would lead ! I go wherever the wind takes me and where I feel good…
What are your projects?
To move forward ! To progress in what I do.
I would like to do more collaborations, especially with artists…that’s what I want now !
Which designers would you like to see on L’Envers du Décor?
Little Madi…I love her universe ! She works on many different materials, it is very interesting.
