Candice is a dynamic and passionate woman who is happy to give us more details about her job, the jewels she likes and her projects.
3 jewel designers you like ?
There are a lot but I would say Anne Thomas, Aurélie Bidermann and Camille Enrico especially her cuffs. They are already famous!
Do you have favourite jewels? What is its story?
I have 3 jewels that never leave me: a small golden Casio watch I have found at a second-hand shop in Madrid, a silver bangle offered by my parents for my 18th birthday and my favourite jewel is my mother’s small silver ring, very thin, with two panthers heads, it comes from the Louvre. I wear all these jewels on my right arm.
What are the qualities necessary to be a good jewelry designer ?
Technique and not to be afraid of the unknown. We are numerous so we have to know how to differentiate ourselves, technique and creation are important to succeed.
What would you advise to a new jewelry designer ?
I consider myself as a new jewelry designer so I would say : perseverance and to be aware that nothing should be taken for granted, you need to question yourself to evolve. It is a complicated job in which competition is severe.
Which jewel, created by another jewel designer, you would have loved to create ?
Wow, it is a difficult question, there are so many. I love Hermès enamel cuffs.
What is the most satisfying thing about your job?
The joy of seeing strangers wearing my pieces. It is awesome to know that some persons like something I have created with my own hands. I am happy to be part of the jewelry field.
What are your projects ?
To develop a laser collection because I want to create my own shapes. By the end of the summer, I will learn to work with silver. Anyway, you constantly need to acquire new skills.
Which designers would you like to see on my website?
A designer I met during a creators market, Audrey Mesdaght. Her golden brass and gold-plated jewels are thin. Our worlds are very different.
Thank you Candice!
